Dances Taught Tuesdays 2024

19/11/24 TAKE ME TO THE BEACH (Debbie Rushton, Gregory Danvoie, Mike Liadouze, Guillame Richard) Thanks to everyone who let me know beforehand whether or not they would be able to make it to class, and also to those who were able to travel. In the end, only a handful were missing so numbers weren’t much lower than normal. Slightly ironic that I chose a night of freezing temperatures to teach a dance called Take Me To The Beach! The dance itself is relatively easy with a few nice bits of styling but fitting the (turbo-speed) tag in proved a little harder. Had a bit of fun with it, but not sure it was a hit with everyone.

We also danced: All Week Long (7 Nights To Rock), Grundy Gallop, My Broken Heart, If I Don’t, Tailgate 88, Broken Soul, Vibe Check, Why Why Left, I Showed You The Door, Moonlight (twice), Eyes Like Diamonds, Die With A Smile, Dark Side Of The Moon, Sunset Memories, Hearts On Fire, Men On A Mission, To Be Blunt, Still Somewhere, Heartbreak Disco, Troubled Waters, Love Somebody, Diamonds in A Whiskey Glass and Beautiful Scars.

12/11/24 MOONLIGHT (Neville Fitzgerald & Julie Harris) I know of several other classes where this has been taught this week and rightly so – a catchy track and good choreography. Everyone stayed on the floor to dance it again. Sure to be a hit.

I also slipped in a quick teach of SUNSET MEMORIES ( Gary O’Reilly) A perfect contrast to the above, with this one being a 32 count improver level dance to a nice country track.

Also danced: King Of The Road, Memory Lane, Broken Soul, I Close My Eyes, Impossible Love, Thank You, Hold Me Now, Jealous Of The Sun, Champagne Promise & Neon Hearts.

11/11/24 New dance this week was HIGHS & LOWS (Maggie Gallagher). Feels a little on the slow side in places but think the majority were happy with it.

Dances Taught 2024 Mondays 1.10pm

18/11/24 No new dance this week. Had another go at last week’s Twenty-Two.

Also danced: We Can’t Wait, We’re Good To Go, Tippin It Up, Rocket To The Sun, Grundy Gallop, Homecoming and Glass Of Wine.

11/11/24 New dance this week was TWENTY-TWO (Michelle Risley). They, like me, weren’t overkeen with the singing along to the chorus idea but I think they enjoyed the dance and were clapping along to the modified K step at the end.

Also danced: Stroll Along Cha Cha (to Poker Face), A Bar Song, Tippin It Up, Mamma Maria (to Do It All Again), Black Coffee, and Go Cat GO (to Guitars, Cadillacs).

New Line Dance Class for Absolute Beginners

I’ll be starting a new class for absolute beginners in the New Year. Full details will be confirmed nearer the time, but it’s likely to start towards the end of January 2025 and will take place around 3pm at The Age UK centre in Park Street, Lincoln. You need to be aged 50 or over to be able to attend classes there, and will have to register with them at reception (no charge to register). The class will run initially as an 8 week course but this will be reviewed dependent on numbers attending.

The class is intended for those with no previous experience of line dancing but would also be suitable for anyone who has danced a long time ago, and wants to start again with the basics.  If you think you might be interested or know anyone else who might be, please pass on my website address to them. I’ll update this page with further information once the exact details are known – likely to be no later than early in the New Year.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please get in touch with me using the details in the ‘Contact’ section.
