A week in the life of a linedancer……

Read where we’ve been on our travels for linedancing during the last week…..

FRIDAY 9th May – Up the A1 and M62 to a social at Eggborough Power Station. Great mix of new and old dances at a lovely venue. Favourite oldie danced – Streamlinin’ (Chris & Richard Hodgson).  New dance spotted that I’ve not taught myself – Isla Bonita (Roy Verdonk & Wil Bos).

SATURDAY 10th May – Across to Kissingate Leisure Centre in Shirebrook for the excellent monthly social run by Chris & Ash. Tonight’s favourite oldie Rock n Roll Bride (Robbie), new dance that had a lot on the floor – Tainted Hearts (Kym Barry & Elaine Aldridge).

SUNDAY 11th May – Over the Humber Bridge and into Hull for Grrowler’s 3 to11pm choreographer showcase with Robbie McGowan Hickie.  Nice to meet the “up and coming” choreographer Michael Lynn AKA Bimbo Boots for the first time. Lots of  learning, dancing and fun.

MONDAY 12th May – Back up the A1 (again!) this time to Stella’s class at Walesby. Her new dance for this week was Black & Gold. I did week 2 of my latest dance, One Step At A Time.

TUESDAY 13th May – My own class at Canwick so only a 20 odd minute journey each way. New dance was Robbie’s Like A Hero which was well received.

WEDNESDAY 14th May – Over to Karen’s class in Mapperley, Nottingham. New dance there was Peter & Alison’s new country one, Freedom Feels Like Lonely.

THURSDAY 15th – Normally my night to play badminton but a week off this week. Glad of a night in for a change!

FRIDAY 16th – Out to Maggie G’s social in Coventry. Very enjoyable, nice hall, lots of Maggie G dances (no surprise there!). She also did a quick teach of her latest dance Stronger. Other dance seen on a dancefloor for the first time by me Freaky Skillz- not bothered if I don’t see it again!!
